AMS-SMT Lunch-Outs
What’s the best way to meet new colleagues? Over lunch! Lunch-outs at the 2025 AMS-SMT Joint Annual Meeting provide an opportunity to connect and network in an informal setting. Attendees will be matched with hosts via ranked choice. Lunch-outs will take place at a restaurant near the conference hotel. The AMS will make restaurant reservations and arrange a meeting spot. All attendees must pay for their own lunch.
Lunch-outs will be held 7 and 8 November 2025, 12:30pm–2:00pm.

AMS Buddy Program
The AMS Buddy Program is designed to extend a warm and hearty welcome to new members or those attending the AMS Annual Meeting for the first time. The program does this by pairing new attendees with experienced members of the Society to help break some of the formal “ice” and demystify the meeting in both the social and professional realm. The Buddy Meetup is scheduled to take place on Thursday, 6 November 2025, 1:00-2:00pm CST. The AMS Buddy Program is only open to AMS members.
Those interested in registering for the Buddy Program should consult the applicable guidelines, either the guidelines for mentees or the guidelines for mentors. Members of the AMS Committee on Career–Related Issues (CCRI) help organize and serve as hosts for the AMS Buddy Program.

Speed Networking
Speed Networking sessions are scheduled for Saturday, 8 November 2025, 12:30–2:00pm CST. Participants will be randomly placed into small groups and shuffled into new discussions every 8–10 minutes. Speed networking is open to all Annual Meeting attendees. To participate in Speed Networking, you must sign up.
